What uses credits, and what does not

In Wapopo, only image generation uses credits:

• Every generated image — one panel, one element card, one frame, or one cover — costs 100 credits;
• Redrawing one panel also costs 100 credits;
• If an image is not generated, the credits are returned automatically.

These do not use credits:

• Writing the synopsis, setting characters, and arranging pacing;
• Writing pages, writing dialogue, and editing one line of dialogue;
• Chatting with the assistant and asking it to edit text;
• Exporting as PNG or PDF.

So edit the text until you are happy before you draw. You can write and edit text as many times as you want, and it does not use credits; only generating images does. Once the story, pages, and dialogue are set, the images you generate will be the version you want.

About how many credits does a comic use

Based on comics already completed online, it is roughly:

• Short, 1 episode: about 30 images (including character element images and the cover);
• Medium-length, 3 episodes: about 70 images;
• Long, 10 episodes: about 210 images.

More characters and more redraws will use a bit more.

You get 3,000 credits when you sign up. That is about 30 images, enough to finish a short comic.

Check how many are left

Click your account in the lower left. The menu says “You can still draw … images”. When you are almost out, a message will pop up above your account.

What if I do not have enough

If you do not have enough credits when you click to generate an image, “Not enough credits” will pop up. Then:

• Planning, editing, and export still work as usual. You just cannot generate this image;
• You can invite friends: generate an invitation code and send it to a friend. If they sign up with it, you each get 3,000 credits (about 30 images);
• You can also click “Buy credit pack”.

Buy a credit pack

Credit packs start at $20 and are one-time payments:

• No subscription, and no auto-renewal;
• Credits do not expire;
• A credit pack that has not been used at all can be fully refunded within 14 days.

See the Pricing page for the available credit packs and how many images each one can generate. Payments are handled by our reseller, Dodo Payments. You can pay by bank card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or WeChat Pay.

In the account menu, click “Buy credits”, or in the “Not enough credits” pop-up, click “Buy credit pack”. Both open the same small window. Choose a pack and click “Go to payment”. You will go to the payment page. After you pay and return to Wapopo, we will tell you when the credits arrive.
